KUWAIT, — The National Arabian Horse Festival 2015, sponsored by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, kicked off on Friday amid fierce competitions among Kuwaiti participants.
The festival organized by the Arabian Horse Center started with the competition of most beautiful Arabian horses in which about 264 contesters are taking part. On November 20, the second competition will be held with the participation of 162 Arabian horses.
In a statement to KUNA, Nasser Al-Ghaith, a member of the organizing committee, said Friday the festival witnessed an unprecedented participation of the Arabian horses, lauding the distinguished beauty of the horses. He added that this will lead to make exciting competitions at the end of the event. Eight international arbiters accredited from the European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations are participating in this big event qualifying for the Kuwait’s international festival of Arabian horses to be held on February, he noted.
On his part, Nasser Borusly, deputy chief of the registration committee, said that Kuwait is participating in the two events with about 426 horses which is a largest number compared with the previous competitions.
He added that the organizing committee facilitated the missions of all participants, noting the competitions of Arabian horses have a big popularity in Kuwait.
