We received a message from Mr. Koenraad Detailleur, organizer of the West Coast Cup(WCC), commenting on an item of news recently published by Alassalah, in English and Arabic languages, stating that WCC is no longer affiliated to ECAHO. The following is the text of the message:
Messages: Dear all members of the Arabian horse world
Hereby we would like to inform you that we do not intend to work against the rules of the ECAHO. As per circumstances we had to move our date to the 23th and 24th of July, because the AHO planned the Chantilly show at exact the same weekend of our initial show date. So we were forced to move our date. Before we decided to move to the 23th and 24th of July, we spoke to all trainers and they agreed that this would be the best possible date for them and their clients to come and participate at the West Coast Cup.
We are very sorry that the situation had to take this direction and end up the way things are now. But we are not able to cancel the show, as we have already made many arrangements and payments to get the show organized. Also we have a dear friend his daughter’s wedding the weekend before the West Coast Cup holds place, they will use our showground and accommodation as their wedding venue, so everything is coordinated with this event as well.
So I trust you can find some peace to this situation as it is now and we hope that for the future things will be handled differently.
Hereby we will accept, as ECHAHO asked not to use any ECAHO officials, nor hold this show under the name of the ECAHO at this edition of the West Coast Cup. Therefore we changed the name to West Coast Cup Masters Open and cancelled all our ECAHO officials.
We hope you respect our decision.
Koenraad Detailleur and Family
