BRUGES –
On 7 and 8 June, is organized for the second edition of the Arabian Horse Event Bruges. Last year the event attracted many famous names to Bruges and this year some famous people are expected, as the wife of Charly Watts, the drummer of the Rolling Stones.
Jurgen Lievrouw and Tim De Jonghe from Westvleteren organize on Saturday 7 and Sunday, June 8th again Bruges Arabian Horse Event. It is the second edition of the grand beauty contest for horses.
The organizers have with the West Flanders Province board found a new location in the Provincial Domain Tillegembos in Sint-Michiels. Because the event is very interesting for Bruges. The first edition attracted many famous and most wealthy people. And this weekend, more than a hundred hotel rooms booked.
Prince of Saudi Arabia
Participants are expected from Belgium, Netherlands, France, Denmark, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, America, Sweden, England, Poland, Argentina, South Africa and Qatar. Among the participants they expect to include the wife of Rolling Stones drummer Charly Watts, slalom Olympic skiing champion Mario Matt of Austria, Sheikh Khaled Al Bagedo and Prince Abdullah Bin Fahad Al Saud of Saudi Arabia. The latter is also the main sponsor of the Arabian Horse Event Bruges in Bruges.
The event is a beauty contest for horses. The animals are judged on appearance, physique and movement. And the jurors come from all over the world. On Saturday, all the horses and watched the first two of each age group may proceed to the final on Sunday. The event can be attended free of charge. The public is provided with a stand
