Pinga, one of the most valuable mare in Janów Stud, was leased to Aljawza Stud in Saudi Arabia. Rent had to be completed in February, but Pinga is not now in Janów.
Pinga is a multiple champion. She won, among others, the World Senior Gold Champion Mare in Paris. She was also among gold Champions in Polish and Europe. It is a beautiful bay mare.
According to the lease, Pinga should have returned at least a couple of weeks ago, but so far this has not happened. We asked the stud and the Polish Agricultural Property Agency (APA), about Pinga and when will it reappear in Janów Podlaski.
According to the information we got from APA, the lease has been extended until the end of April, and the equine insurance contract to May. As we were told by the APA spokesman, Witold Strobel, there were problems with transport, because there is no daily connections with Saudi Arabia so that you can transport the horse.
The Stud in turn wrote back to us, that the mare is on the way back. “Check the mare to stud was delayed due to the month quarantine, we have to conduct prior to departure. At the moment, we are waiting for the schedule for the end of April trip to Europe. We all in Janów expect Pinga back to home soon” – written in the email that we got from the stud in Janów.
Stud boasts the fact that the mare during the lease in Saudi enjoyed successes, such as Qatar International Senior Bronze Champion Mare in Qatar, won All Nations Cup Senior Silver Champion Mare, Aachen (DE) and the title of World Platinum Champion Mare, Paris (FR).
“In January, she also won the 2016 PSAIAHF(Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Arabian Horse Festival), which this year took place in Saudi Arabia,”- the stud says proudly.
About how much is it? This question does not receive a reply from the stud. W. Strobel, a spokesman for APA, told us that involved tens of thousands of euros. He denied also that Pinga was being prepared for issue at this year’s auction in Janow.
Questions about Pinga are not unfounded.
Horse lovers are afraid of what to do next with the Polish Arabian horse breeding after personnel changes in the stud in Janów and the departure of Mark Trela. Doubts and questions are also raised about the deaths of two valuable mares that were leased from Shirley Watts.
Thanks to studs – after appreciating the chief of APA – which deal with prosecutors. they examines, among others, whether Janow has to deal with mismanagement. Investigations also included the topic of dead mares, checking what might be the cause.Investigators gather documentation, waiting for the results of research, interviewing witnesses. And it does take some time.
